Affordable Sydney Beachside Wedding Option

02.09.18

I searched and searched. Looking at options where I could just rent the space at a lifesaving club to restaurants that had the full set up for a wedding reception. With all inclusions (i.e. table setting, waiter service, set up of decorations, food, beverage packages) it ended up being upwards of $200 per person. Then on top of this, there might be a minimum of 50-100 people.

After many calculations and comparisons, the end result was the Bathers Pavilion Restaurant. My pros and cons list is below:

PROs

- you get the entire upper floor for your occasion, no other weddings next door or underneath.

- a beach right in front, with a private balcony to look at the view from (and where you could also double as your wedding ceremony space)

- If you have a small wedding 80 people or less sit down.

- The food is great quality - a hatted Sydney restuarant

CONs

- If you are planning a big wedding 80 people plus, they have a limited number that can do a sit down 3 course meal for, more than 80 people and you risk very little room to dance or no dance floor at all.

- may still be pricey for your budget, still in the range of $150-$250 per person with the essential inclusions (as of 2015 prices)

- the balcony is small for a ceremony - but big enough for an 80 person reception

My partner and I had the most magical night - with many of our guest telling us what an amazing night they had.
